About the event
In collaboration with Not Charity, Solidarity, and RisingSun Outreach, Black Futures Society is proud to gather the community at Lincoln Terrace Park on Monday, June 19 ( Juneteenth) from 3 pm - 7 pm to celebrate the emancipation of enslaved Black folks. This is the second year the day is observed as a national holiday and we'll share it with people who look like us and go through similar experiences.
We'll be redistributing essential health, wellness, and home goods, books, AND sharing space, information, and self-betterment strategies. We present Narcan Training, a Capoeira class, an Afro-Salsa Dance Class, a cooking workshop, and a Sunset Movement Yoga. Going on all day, we'll have individual career/resume-building lessons and all-day painting for youth. And yes, EVERYTHING IS FREE for those of the African Diaspora.
RSVP is appreciated to help us gauge how many community members we'll be serving. We are still fundraising and open to donations of all sorts to make this event as meaningful and impactful as possible.
Everyone is able to donate as donations keep us able to activate reach outs for the community.
